Anyone commute from Fairfax to Manassas? I just got a job there and am wondering what it'll be like. Since I'm going west I'm hoping 66 won't be too bad. Google maps says 30 minutes but I imagine it'll be a little longer than that.
I'm still living in Fairfax with my parents for the time being, but maybe I'll move closer after a few months.

It also depends on exact time of your commute, and specific locations in Fairfax and Manassas. Sometimes I drive to Manassas in a morning, and if I leave my home in Vienna around 7:15am, I will be there (Rt.28 and Sudley) at ~ 7:50am. Traffic at this time of the day, going 66W and Rt.28S, is not bad. But again if something happens, it may take longer. If I happened to be in Manassas in the late afternoon (3-4pm), driving back to Vienna usually takes a little longer.

It's generally a reverse commute. My husband commuted from near the Vienna Metro to Manassas for 12 years (until 3 years ago). He usually did not hit traffic - it was mostly going the other way. On Fridays afternoons in summer or before holidays, it could be bad, but overall, it was an okay commute. He went 25 miles - it was down Sudley a bit - and it took about 40-45 minutes.
