Hello Klaus...for starting you can share an appatment or a house with roomates. It is cheaper and higher quality.
If you have a car you may want to drive in our very busy ( traffic) roads to go to work, but Reston has some oublic transportation and you may also use "park and ride" from your home to your work, but if you need a realtor, i know 2 very good who can find EXACTLY what you need.

Look into sharing a place. It would give you a chance to get a feel for the area. Then if you want to find a place with a better commute or whatever, you won't be locked into a year lease.
