Hello,

Just a curious question - I might also get a beating for asking this. I really don't want to sound racist but would like to know, if you guys prefer living in a place if it is absolutely dominated by immigrants (asian/mexicans) mostly.

Again, I really have nothing against them as such, but I see that slowly NOVA is more dominated by Indians in most places. I do understand IT jobs here but the Loudoun county looks like a mini asian place. I'm not sure if this trend continues, would that be a factor if someone has to make a choice of living long term by buying a house in Loudoun (especially Ashburn) and few parts near clock tower, Herndon?

According to the demographics, only 23% of Loudoun county is foreign born; so I can't imagine why you believe less than 1/4 of the population means "absolutely dominated".

Or by "absolutely dominated", do you mean more than you would like to see?

I prefer living close to where I work so I don't waste huge amounts of time on the roadways - it doesn't bother me if everyone in my neighborhood does not look like me.

If you think Ashburn is "dominated by immigrants" then you really need to stay in Loudoun County. Ashburn is one of the least diverse burbs in NOVA.

Go to Annandale or Falls Church if you want to see a really diverse community.

...And no I don't care. Arlington probably has the best Mexican food in NOVA because of our Hispanic population and I freaking love Mexican Food. Falls Church has best Pho cuz of Filipino population. Annandale has best Korean because of Korean Population...

...Can you tell I like food?

Northern Virginia in general is a very diverse area. If you don't like Ashburn or Loudoun County then you won't like anywhere in NoVa.

Well, "Loudoun" was spelled correctly, so +1 there.

I used to live in Alexandria and my neighborhood there sometimes seemed like a mini United Nations. People from everywhere. Of course, there were also all sorts of ethnic restaurants, which was good. Within three or four blocks I could eat Chinese, Italian, Mexican, BBQ, Afghan, Ethiopian, Thai, Japanese, etc. And some of them delivered. I could come home from work, pick up the phone, and with 10 minutes some guy would be pounding on my door with my dinner.
