Fortunately, residential natural gas service is regulated down to about 5 psi after the meter. If it was under the pressure of, say the water service....houses blowing to smithereens would be a daily occurrence.

You also need the county to certify the work was done properly. It amazes me that people are willing to put their lives at risk for a couple of bucks. Stove not installed right and you get a leak, you're never waking up. Geez, just pay the fee.
