Any idea about tomorrow? Thinking about heading to Timberline today but not wanting to drive back early in the morning if the federal government will be open.

Pay attention to Metro's operating schedule and that should give you a good feel. OPM probably won't announce until tonight.

My government coworker, who lives in DC, actually went in today to pick up something from his office. Took the green line (underground) with no issues and walked about a mile on well-shoveled sidewalks.

If WMATA is able to reopen the blue/yellow line for tomorrow the government will definitely be open. I would bet on both being open for tomorrow.

I'm betting on a two hour delay for Tuesday. Some roads near me in Tysons and Mclean are still unplowed though, so another closure wouldn't shock me.

I think federal government will be closed tomorrow as well and on Wednesday, a 2 hour delay if Tuesday PM rain isn't too bad.

Still lot of local roads are a big mess.

I've just heard that OPM does not care about that. All they care about is Metro, Metro, Metro.

I think tomorrow depends almost entirely on Metro. The latest on the Post's website says they "hope" to reopen to entire metrorail system tomorrow but don't know whether they will be able to yet. My bet would be that Metro just won't be able to get the whole system up and running tomorrow and there will be another closure. And, even if they get metrorail up and going, I'm sure many bus routes will likely not get going tomorrow.
