Hey all, looking for a good brunch recommendation from the foodies. I need one location between Alexandria and Fairfax City, and another between Alexandria and Chantilly. Doesn't have to be exactly midway but fairly equidistant for both locations would be ideal. TIA!

funny, I was about to suggest the Carlyle in Shirlington, they are the same company. I have been to Silverado. I dine there frequently with family or friends and they have a nice atmosphere. The food is consistently good(they keep the menu simple) but frequently have specials. The menus at Carlyle and Silv's are almost identical but Silv's is smaller. The Great American Restaurants chain include the above mentioned, as well as Mike's American Grill, Sweetwater Tavern, Coastal Flats, Ozzie's, Jackson's Lucky Lounge,Artie's, and Best buns Bakery(attached to carlyle). I love going to Carlyle as I prefer the Shirlington neighborhood. It is nice to go out after dinner and see a movie-there's a theatre right down the street. It would be a great place to have brunch then take a stroll, after. It's right off 395. GAR don't do reservations in advance but you can call ahead and give them your name..it can get a bit loud during busy hours. I believe JAckson's is closer to chantilly, in Reston.

Shirlington isn't between Alex. and Fairfax though... I figured Annandale was a better pick.

Sweetwater Tavern is in Merrifield and also a GAR restaurant, but a lot more seating than Silverado, so it may be easier to get a table.

Love GAR restaurants but do they have brunch? I don't think Ozzies and Coastal Flats (both at Fairfax Corner) open till 11:00. Don't know about the others. Not sure how fancy you want but there's First Watch in the Greenbriar shopping center on Rt 50 by Chantilly.

Thanks for the link. Didn't realize they had brunch. Looks like most of them do. Coastal Flats doesn't at Fairfax and Tyson's. Good to know. They are great and a first rate overall
