I live in va.
my company is in md.
I goto client sites which are located in dc, va, and md.

I've been employed w/them since Jan and there's rumor of mass layoffs by June.

I think I'm eligible to file in any of the 3 jurisdictions because i've worked in each, right?
Which one pays the most? (I make $80k/yr)

Thx

1. You have to file where the company is located -- Maryland in this case.
2. Pretty sure DC is most generous, then Maryland, and Virginia is last.

FYI I think you would qualify for about $2200 a month based on your income. (About 33% of your gross income)

Were you employed before this job? I think you have to have been working continuously for almost a year to qualify (can be more than 1 employer).

You'd have to file in Maryland. The maximum weekly benefit amount for MD is $430. (FWIW, DC is $359 & VA is $378)

Instead of collecting the tax payer's money, why don't you get off your ass and start looking for a new job?

As OP is currently a "tax payer", I don't see why anyone would take issue with him/her utilizing an unemployment benefit that his/her taxes are helping to fund.

Employers are the taxpayer in this case, not the employee.

I'm pretty sure everyone continues to pay taxes.

OP states he makes around $80k a year. $2200 would indeed be about 1/3rd of his gross income.
