Hello,
We are moving back north from S FL this summer. We've have a son starting 8th grade in the fall. We will be renting first, we've been looking into Ashburn. I've researched greatschools but would like to hear from locals on their recommendations on the best middle schools in Ashburn. Trailside seems to be one of the better schools, but again hoping I can get input from this forum.
Also our son is a huge soccer fan, any suggestions on academy's in Loudoun county?

Thanks in advance!

Others can weigh in, but I think it is very difficult to ensure a specific Loudoun school. Growth and overcrowding means that district lines change yearly.

Yes, we are currently in the middle of yet another boundary adjustment for middle and high schools. All the gory details are here: Planning / Secondary School (MS-9 & HS-11) Attendance Zones

There probably won't be too much adjustment in the Ashburn planning areas, but nothing is definite until the boundary adoption meeting next Tuesday, May 10 - and even then, there was some discussion during the board meeting last Monday about pushing some of these decisions to the fall after the district has their "September 30" attendance numbers and can use those more realistic numbers instead of staff projections.

Soccer - most kids are in either Loudoun Soccer or FCV Ashburn.

Why did you pick Ashburn?

Default Why Ashburn

Thanks for the soccer info!

We picked Ashburn due to its family feel and the tech companies in the area. While I am employed now if I need to find work locally I'd prefer not to commute too east. It appears beyond Reston and I'd be looking at a commute over an hour? The schools are also a driving factor. Are there other suggestions of towns further east with good schools?
