I also notice some changes to Manassas Mall lately, the Target was replaced by a go-kart racing track and a few more stores have been added to make it more upscale-ish

Nothing says "upscale" like a go-kart track!

I got a text this week from my barber from Landmark. They set up shop down the street in Lincolnia after Landmark closed. I'm probably going to go to Alexandria tomorrow just to see Landmark closed to believe it.

I was at Landmark last summer and that was the last time I was there. I don't know if you can even go into the building now

You cannot, except for the end stores like Sears.

Does anyone know if the bus stop at the Landmark Mall is still in the same place it was when it was open, at a mall entrance near the former Macy's? I may have a reason to go to Sears and I haven't been there since last year. It would make sense for Metrobus and DASH bus to move the stop next to Sears, but I can't find any information on their websites.

FWIW, Nordstrom's at Dulles Town Center just said it was closing.

I wonder if some of these department stores eventually end up like IKEA - only 1 or 2 per major metropolitan area; not at every mall.

I think we have it pretty good here in the D.C area as far as malls go, since there is enough of an upper income population to keep them open, at least the more high-end malls. I saw a report on the local NBC news that said Nordstrom has only closed one other store in the country recently, and that all the workers at the Dulles Town Center store will be offered jobs at other stores in the area. Nordstrom has a lot of stores in this area so that may be one reason this one is closing.
