Finally found one in my part of Herndon area couple of days ago/

But, just only one so far and it stayed in the same bush for 2 days, don't know why.

Found this guy yesterday. Went out to explore, and I found several empty shells. This is in Great Falls, close to the village.

A handful or so in the Falls Church/McLean area. I've got no use for them, I think the shells are hideous and mildly creepy. I was 8 in 1987 and probably refused to go outside that summer. I still remember driving to work in 2004 when they were flying off every windshield on the Beltway.

Wow, according to that map, the Eastern Shore/Bay Bridge area is getting hammered hard. This really surprises me, I did not think they would burrow in sandy soil.
