Oh my gosh...thank you all so much. Now I remember. Also remember the Best, Bell and Service Merchandise. Oh wasn't that the good old days. Thanks all!!

I think it was Best (maybe Bell) that had a statue of a giant Indian on the roof/corner of the building but it distracted drivers on I-270 in Bethesda and they had to take it down

Best had a lot of unusual facades for their buildings. People did talk.

There was a Best in Sterling. It was located in the shopping center where Wegman's now stands. Before there was Wegman's in that spot, Walmart was there. Walmart moved and the Best store was torn down. All that left room for Wegman's and other stores to move in.

Just wish I could find a picture of the Indian. It was quite interesting as it creeped over the edge of the store.

Wow! I can see how that would be distracting to anyone driving by it!

IIRC, the one in Sterling didn't have any unique features.
