From where do you commute? I'm in Fredericksburg, and there's not enough money to make me do the No.Va. commute! Unless someone gave me a helicopter and taught me how to fly it....No way!!!!!!

I used to live in Leesburg and commuted to Sterling (no big deal at 5:30 am), but I worked with a guy that drove from Bowling green to Sterling every day (84 miles one way). He didn't seem to mind

When I worked in Chantilly I used to work with 2 people that drove from Gordonsville, VA (about 80 miles one way). How in the heck do people do this? I'd be pulling my hair out! My brother lives in Spotsylvania Courthouse and drives to Fairfax City every day. I just couldn't do it!

I used to commute from Fredericksburgh to Springfield - usually about an hour and a half each way. After a particulary bad snowstorm, when it took me 4 hrs to get to work and 3 hrs and 10 min to get home, I gave up and moved to Springfield.

When I worked in Arlington, I used to ride the bus with a guy who drove from west of Charlottesville to Fredericksburg, where he would park in the commuter lot and ride the bus from Fredericksburg to the Pentagon. And then the reverse. Each and every day. That was the hands down worst commute that I have seen. I'm not sure that too many people can top it!

Wow! I have a friend who lives in Manassas. She drives to a parking lot, and takes a bus from Manassas to West Falls Church. It works well for her since her workplace is on the Orange Line. Where the heck is your place of employment that it is another 1hr on the Metro from Union Station or L'Enfant (about 1 hr from Manassas according to the VRE schedule)?

There was a Washington Post Magazine article about these insane commutes sometime last year. It chronicled one guy coming from Charlottesville into DC. I think it wore him down and ruined his family life so much that he ended up quitting his job. Then, of course, there are always the people that come in from the panhandle of WV.
