We are a military family relocating to the area in April. We are considering living in Arlington. Any feedback on middle and high schools namely Williamsburg MS and York HS. I have seen the ratings at greatschools.com and niche.com but those ratings seem heavily waited toward test scores.

Yorktown High is consistently good. If certain sports are a high priority, I might look in Fairfax County. Yes, test scores can seem to be life and death, but SAT can be greatly improved by discouraging the burritos from taking the test, and hurting the averages. You have to sift through the data.

Alexandria, Burke, Fairfax Station and West Springfield (Hayfield, Lake Braddock, Robinson, West Potomac, and West Springfield HS pyramids) tend to attract a lot more military families now than North Arlington. I would look there as well.

Also, the Arlington County high schools have gotten very crowded in recent years. They really need a fourth comprehensive high school, but land is so expensive and hard to find in Arlington that they've ended up just redistricting kids (from Washington-Lee HS to Yorktown HS and Wakefield HS) and making tentative plans to expand a few special programs like Arlington Tech (a non-traditional program with a STEM focus) to attract some high school students.
