Website links: American Disposal Services vs. Republic Services

I am currently with American Disposal Services , $40 per month. This morning, a guy walked around my neighborhood and tried to persuade some residents to switch to Republic Services (New customers: only $25 per month for 1st year; $26 per month for 2nd year; $27 per month for 3rd year. No information after 3rd year, he said it stayed at $27 per month after 3rd, but it is not on contract, and I would not take it seriously).

It is kinda too good to be true, I went to Republic Services official website, and I did not find any discount. The website does offer $36 per month for 1st year, then $40 per month afterward, which is same price.

Is it same? Does the guy really represent Republic Services? Has anyone actually gotten Republic Services for that low price?

Thanks.

Why don't you call Republic Services and ask them??? Why do you think we would know more about a company discount than the company that may or may not be offering it?

The intent of the thread is to ask if anyone has received such discounted service. You may not know, but someone else in this forum may be the person who is receiving the discount service.

Republic definitely does not stay at that rate once the promotion extends. I have had them for 12 years now, I think we pay about $55 a month. A bunch of years ago, when they were known as AAA (before Republic bought them) they'd offer two year contract deals, but I can't remember the last time they called and offered me. Every so often American will call with a great rate deal for a few years and then no guarantee beyond that. Some neighbors tend to change back and forth every few years.

Lightbulb Price Matching Trash Companies--Great Idea!

Republic Trash will price match other trash companies (i.e. American or others). We have been with Republic for over 15 years and all I do is call each year before my bill comes out and write down the current per month/per quarterly fees with competitors. For example, my Republic bill is price matched for a year for $100/per quarter instead of $175/per quarter.

Just notate who you spoke with American and call Republic and ask for a supervisor--also notate who you spoke with, date, time, etc. at both vendors. American may price match too. Just ask and call around other trash competitors. Good luck--
