Having my gutters cleaned in time for the storm just to be on the safe side. Have set up 2 sump pumps and a french drain already from my walk up basement stairs - plus good window recesses.

But as others have said our land is already so marshy and saturated there's real concern about how much rain we may get. Really hoping this doesn't cause major power outages.

My cousins in NC are now under mandatory evacuation - really keeping fingers and toes crossed that this won't be as bad as it's sounding like.

Watching the weather on TV just now and it really looks like we won’t get much if anything. Maybe an inch or so of rain from outer band if it reaches this far north. Forecast looks decent over the next few days.

My understanding is, the closer to DC the better. Fredericksburg and south/southwest may run into problems. But this is where things stand as of now, could change.

I sincerely pray that these weather guys are wrong this time and this doesn't become one of the worst natural calamities we have faced here.

Where are you? It looks and sounds like it most likely will be a non-event for the DC area.

Just went to Safeway on Wilson in Arlington and plenty of bread and milk left. Gallon bottled water is gone (grabbed the last 3.) Will probably make another run for water and drinks tomorrow in between Lyfts.
