Hello,

Looking for a good area to stay at a hotel somewhere in between IAD and DCA airport. Preferably somewhere in the middle if possible.

Nightlife, shopping, restaurants.

Thanks

Tyson's Corner. Can't get much more in the middle and shop/eat til you drop.

The Hyatt Regency is connected to the shopping center and walkable to Metro. If you want something cheaper there's Marriott, Hilton, etc. Easy metro/uber into North Arlington if you want more nightlife.

There's a ton of hotels between IAD and DCA. Tysons tends to be fairly upmarket, there's a lot of cheaper places in Fairfax or Falls Church and then of course again several more upmarket properties in Arlington.

If this is about having a flight arrive late in the evening at one of the airports and then a morning connection at the other airport...don't think too much about whether you're 'in the middle'..think about your chosen mode of transport and how the location and timing would fit in.

For example if my flight arrived at 9 pm..it wouldn't matter too much to me if my Uber took 5 or 10 minutes longer. Traffic won't be a problem at that hour. But if my next flight leaves at 8.30 in the morning next day, I'd rather be pretty close to that airport.

Done that a bunch of times and recommend Holiday Inn Rosslyn. At Dulles, take metro shuttle to Reston station. Stay on Silver Line metro to Rossyln Metro stop. It's a couple of blocks walk downhill to Holiday Inn. Reasonable rates, walking distance to multiple restaurants, gym, indoor pool, etc. Rosslyn metro is a couple of metro train stops away from National/Reagan airport.

Thanks for the reply’s.

Might try something a little different than op.

Any decent areas, shopping, restaurants, nightlife within 10 minutes of IAD (preferably to the East, at least not the west)?

Thanks

28 is major traffic, to IAD, both directions, most of time. I was going to say Vienna, but your budget will come into play. A friend is near 50, inside the beltway in the Falls Church area of Fairfax County.. He has an access the both airports that would be hard to beat....From there I would go inbound...

Rosslyn is also a stop on the 5A Metrobus express route that serves Dulles.

For the new request, that's definitely Reston Town Center. Only the Hyatt is inside RTC itself, but there are several others within walking distance.
