Hello all, as promised I just wanted to update this thread for the people that helped me out and also for people that might be researching different RD cases like I was at one point. I had my court day yesterday. I did not have a lawyer, I just went in myself and explained what happened with honesty and took ownership of the fact that it was a bad decision. The judge reduced it to improper driving plus a fee of $75+ court costs.

Just curious. It's been years since I had any need to go to Loudoun Co courts. Are they giving defendants the chance to speak with the commonwealth attorney handling the courtroom to see about a deal before going before the judge?

What you did worked well for you but I know many would be afraid to do this as it can be a risk.

I'm actually not too sure. There weren't many people in the courtroom I was in and out of the people in there, I don't believe I saw anyone do that.

I agree, it was a risk. I wasn't sure what to expect but decided to stick my neck out there, I really felt like I could explain the situation myself. Luckily it all worked out and even the officer who stopped me was taking my side.
