Marxism is the explanation of history through class struggle. Virginia history is the study of class and race. Whether its the colonial era and the development of an aristocracy based on the English model or the sheer volume of statutes regarding slavery and race up until 1865. Even a blind man on a galloping horse can see that.

Read Hening's Statutes at Large. The three topics which comprised the most legislative time and effort were: slavery/race, taxes and religion.

Hening's Statutes at Large

Of course the Framers and Founders were not marxists. In their time, they were called "levelers." It scared the dickens out of them, but they were not adverse to a planned economy as evidenced by Hamilton's economic program. Nor were they shy about nationalizing private property as with the "Lighthouse Act of 1789" during the Washington Administration.

Since the founding of the Republic, American history has always been interpreted in its presentation. The earliest was the Republican Virtue school, then the Romantic historians, then the Whig school of history, and so on. Some might want to revert to the filiopietist school which elevated reverence for our forefathers, of course, that was followed by the debunker school, which was followed by a conservative revival of American history and so on. In short, they all had a contribution to make, none were perfect.

Note: for a look at Washington's exposure to a more egalitarian society, read Washington's Crossing by David Hackett Fischer. He also has an informative discussion of the different schools of thought in interpreting the event and hence American history.
I’m sorry but this is ridiculous. You really think that schools should be teaching that slavery was good? Really. People were treating and sold as material forced to do labor, had no freedom, lived and died on plantations just harvesting field, and black people were treated terribly killed, whipped, and tortured. The Bible also said I remember this from the West Wing and reading the Bible myself daughters can be sold into slavery, working on the sabbath is punishable by death, and touching the skin of a dead pig is unclean meaning football players cannot play. I’m a Christian but what you’re saying is ridiculous.

American slavery was unique in world history. It was race based and hereditary; it was also unique in that the status of the child followed the mother, not the father. The United States also instituted slave breeding as an organized industry - unique in world history.

In VA, slave breeding was a major industry. By some estimates, the value of slaves in the US was greater than that of gold or land. The unborn were included in wills; referred to as "issue" the inheritance included the "issue." Slaves were used as collateral for land and other investments. Slave owners mortgaged slaves to banks which then packaged the mortgages into bonds and then sold them overseas.

Loudoun County residents might want to visit the Franklin and Armfield Office in Alexandria. It was one of the largest slave trading firms in the United States. Lumpkin's jail in Richmond was another.

Slaves in South America even had it better than slaves in the US. They had the right to be married, have families, and petition the government against a cruel owner.

American slavery devolved into a system of depravity, violence and cruelty.

Progressive pandering is an issue as much as conservative pandering is. This was obvious as CRT was wrapped up in Soros conspiracies.

The problem is radical left school board members we elect are shoveling highly divisive CRT in our schools. I think that is the topic of discussion in this thread.

You need to study Marxism. It was steadfastly against supporting ethnic identity. It's actually its own brand of forced assimilation, pushing the concept of the "New Soviet Man", a generic worker-pod. Let us know when you catch up to reality.

Truly. Marxism, socialism, communism--most people who bandy such words about have no real understanding of them, and it shows.

Actually, the Soviet experience at shows the opposite under Stalin. Of course, one can argue Stalinism wasn't Marxism, but history is never simple. The Jewish Autonomous Oblast which still exists on paper at least, is but one example. Government buildings still have signs in Russian and Yiddish.

Ah yes, study words and define them. No wonder so many intellectuals are captivated by those three Isms.

Truly a Safe Space is such an ivory tower.
