Yes, depending on what the usual conditions on Route-7 at the usual hour of travel turned out to be, from the Falls Church side it could be worth picking up Great Falls Street, then crossing Route-123 and taking Lewinsville Road out to the merge with Route-7 west of the Toll Road. It would be slightly longer mileage-wise, but it's a nice ride, and certainly would be expected to have less troublesome traffic than Route-7. The latter can be unpredictable. Sometimes you can get through Tysons proper without so much difficulty. Can't really say the same for the stretch between Tysons and the Toll Road, however. That seems to be bad all the time...
