Hi,

I will be moving my family from Columbia, MD to Burke in mid-August. I work in Washington, D.C. I've been using Marc train to commute. My new house in Burke is about 1.5 miles away from VRE near Burke Lake Road and Burke Centre Parkway intersection. I am trying to find map of pathways to VRE in that area. I'd like to start saving money on gas by walking to VRE.

Do you know where I can find it online?

Thanks.

Mike

The Burke Centre Conservancy might have maps of their myriad walking path system.

The Burke Centre Conservancy - Home Page

Barring that, you might just have to go for a walk....head west on Burke Centre Parkway, right on Burke Commons Rd, right on Roberts Parkway to the VRE. That would definitely get you there.

But there may well be shortcuts via the paths....maybe through the Coffer Woods Rd/Wards Grove Circle area. Or the Schoolhouse Woods Dr neighborhood maybe.

I looked on the Google satellite map but I can't make out the paths on it...too many trees in the way! LOL

Yea that's what I was going to say, After 5 minutes of walking, you are hidden in the trees

One other alternative (although it won't grant you the advantage of walking as an exercise) is to look into the EZ shuttle schedule for a stop near you since it's free.
