One of the best scenic routes is through Allegheny National Forest in Northwestern PA. Beautiful forests and mountains. Lots of outdoor activities also, if you want to stop for a hike or something.

BE absolutely sure to stop on the Canadian side to see Niagra Falls...the Canadian side is SO much nicer than our side.
