That's because everyone quit their jobs to be Real Estate Agents, and they're out clogging the roads

I'm sure that what you are looking for could be found. The Bull Run Mountain area is beautiful. I have a friend with a 50+ acre horse farm down a rural lane that is down 234 near the Manassas Battlefield, but I forget the name of the "town". It's not Manassas, not Aldie. Anyhow, if you customize your searches within that large area, I'm sure you'll find some interesting possibilities.

Are you thinking of Catharpin? I am not "clogging the roads" as I write this :-).

Thanks. It seems like there are a lot of nice rural areas around there near Gainseville -- maybe nearer Broad Run right in the mountains. Lake Manassas looks nice as well.

I just like the idea of rural but still just a 45 minute train ride from DC. (To visit -- not to commute and work!)

Default Fantastic Input

Thank you all, I am finding some incredible housing deals in the PWC county. Just a quick note on schools; I rsearched elementary schools in schooldigger.com and Fairfax has 22 elementary schools in the top 100 for the state of VA. Quite a statement when you consider that PWC and Loudon have 9 combined. This is based solely on standardized test scores, and I know there is more to an elementary school than scores, but 22 out of 100 is still a powerful number. I have not gotten a handle on this school pyramid that is used in VA but I will.

Again thank you all for your comments.
