I don't think townhomes have a stigma either. We looked into one...I am actually a lot like 5stones...We found a BEAUTIFUL townhome and a nice single family. We went with the single b/c of the bigger back yard...looking back I think I would have gone with the townhome. There is never time to cut the grass here and we don't really use the back yard much right now...There are so many nice parks and we like to be around others so we tend to just go to those.
If we were to get a townhome I think I would only get an end unti though...Usually more windows.

Oh, and that is GREAT about the $100 a month daycare! So nice of your employer!

Townhomes definitely do not have a stigma! There are townhouses near the golf course in Lowes Island that run around $800,000. You get more home for your money and a small yard that does not need a lot of upkeep. Anyway, you are not going to let your children out in the yard by themselves until they are a lot older. There are plenty of tot lots in the 20165 zip code, there will be one near your home. Algonkian park at the north end of Cascades Parkway is a great place to take kids, they will see deer and there is room to run and play.

A lot of the townhomes in Cascades are nicer than the SFHs. And some of them are bigger than the SFHs too. A lot of executives and celebrities buy townhomes near the golf courses as a place to stay when they come out to the east coast. Since they only come to Nova every once in awhile they don't want yards that need a lot of maintenance.
