I have lived in the Landmark area since 05. Yes, i know Landmark has always had an edge to it, but I feel 2008 has been the worst year for crime since i've moved here. For example, a few months ago 7 cars got broken into in the parking lot at my building (trust me that is not the only break in incident this year.)

It is not even the property crime that concerns me. Landmark has also had more violent crime this year. A popular doctor who works on the corner of Stevenson and Whiting is accused of molestation at his office. We have had two or three murders both within walking distance to Landmark Mall. Just a week ago, somebody got stabbed on S Whiting St. I have seen police beef up their presence.

It is sad that this area is having more problems with crime. I hate the entire DC area in general but felt that Landmark was an okay place to live. This crime spike only makes me want to haul outta here that much quicker.
