Could someone please give me an idea of how long it will take tomorrow to get to Dulles Airport from Fair Oaks if I leave at 5:30a?

I will probably go Stringfellow to Rt 50 to 28.

Would going Fairfax County Parkway (7100) to 50 be better?

Thanks.

I don't know the answer, but I hope you don't mind I'm going to copy this question to the Alternate Routes thread. You might get more replies that way and it's a good general question other people will want to know in years to come.

I am not sure the time exactly by that route. However, going up Rt. 28 from Centreville (getting off I-66 to Rt. 28 North) has taken roughly 20 minutes - traffic isn't too heavy at that time in the morning. I think traffic on Rt. 7100 is pretty light at that time of the morning - 2 years ago I used to travel it at 6 AM and got from I-66 to Rt. 50 in less than 5 minutes usually - depending on the time to stop at the light at the intersection of Fair Lakes Dr. Rt. 50 to Rt. 28 should be easy as that is against traffic. I suspect Rt. 7100 might be faster than Stringfellow Dr.

7100 to 267 would also be a good route, since there are few lights, and you don't have to pay a toll, since you're going to the airport, which is a left branch to get to the Access Highway from the Toll Road.

It should not take more than 30 minutes at 5:30, no matter which route you choose.

50 West - right on Lee's Corner - right on Centreville Rd - left on McLearen - Right on 28. Follow the signs to the airport. Less than 30 minutes.
