I am an Ashburn guy... but I understand. There is no night life here.

I would go for Clarendon as a number one choice. This area has some great eats, bars, and the metro. Ballston is good but most people prefer Clarendon. You could try searching a building called 1020... (I think that is the name). Or the Pheonix.
