Why the cheap potshot? I've lived here for 30 years and spent some of that time commuting on the GW Parkway from McLean to the District, and I've never heard of the "Humpback Bridge" either.

What is this, the 7th grade?

Neither is conservative- or centrist-bashing. Thanks for looking out for us.

I'm responding directly to this post. Sure I mixed in some humor, so what? My point is valid. Harry Reid's days in power are numbered.

The only reason I know of the "Humpback Bridge" is because I used to keep my boat at Columbia Island Marina....and passed under it many times. It's the tiny bridge over the Boundary Channel (aka the entrance to the Pentagon Lagoon). One could drive over it without even noticing it....it's only about 100 to 150 feet long.

If Reid was referring to the bridge itself....that's understandable, most people couldn't tell you where it is. If he was referring to the entire George Washington Parkway...well, then he's a bit out of touch.

The Politics forum would warmly welcome your general opinions on Sen. Reid.

How about we all get back to specifically discussing how Sen. Reid and perhaps other members of Congress regard transportation issues in Northern Virginia?

Harry Reid's ignorance of the Humpback bridge show that he is out of touch with Northern Virginians. And, since the demographics of NOVA are largely a good mix of America we can safely say that Harry Reid is out of touch with Americans

That's the most astonishing logical conclusion I've ever read on this forum. Absolutely brilliant.

Touche'. Nonetheless, I'm sure we share the same goal of focusing on Northern Virginia interests rather than national politics.
