What are some of the signs you look for to know that spring has arrived in northern Virginia?

Spring is here when I hear the frogs singing at night. Another few weeks until that happens, I think. But, I've seen joggers in shorts and this weekend I even shaved my legs! So it must be right around the corner.

Yeah, it's still a little early for singing frogs or bluebells. I think the bluebells will be out around April first this year. I have a feeling they may be spectacular since the soil is pretty soggy from all the snow. Bluebells love soggy soil (that's why you see them along the Potomac, also why you hope you don't see them growing next to your basement).
