We're looking for flooring company recommendations for a home in Woodbridge. We're looking to replace the carpet in the living room with laminate and the vinyl in the kitchen with laminate. Also, replace the current berber carpet in 2 upstairs bedrooms and the stairs. We do not want berber anymore.

Two of my friends swear by
Lumber Liquidators: Hardwood Floors for Less! NEW! . They did the installs themselves though they said LL had fantastic prices on the material. It appears LL does installs too.
I had carpet installed in a rental for about $2080 by this company. I forgot how much sq/ft was actually installed but the house is about 1600sq/ft:

Carpet Yard in McLean did a good job for us. The sales rep brought samples out to our house and offered helpful suggestions. Install was right on time and went without a hitch.

I bought the Washington Consumers Checkbook "carpet" report for DC - you can buy individual reports for around $10. Anyhow, I think I went with the Carpet Yard in Fairfax (it's near that Barnes & Noble). It's been a few years, but if I recall, they were laughing at the time that the Fairfax (Merrifield?) store had better rankings than the McLean store and they didn't know why. But I'm sure either would be good.
