It's been years since I lived in Maryland, but yes, both Montgomery Mall and White Flint were nice the last time I was there. Columbia Mall is also nice but I'm not sure if that would be an hour from Alexandria.

My daughter and I always go to Montgomery Mall when we are tired of going to the malls in Northern Virginia and want to shop somewhere else. It is a nice mall. We have also gone to the mall in Annapolis MD and Arundel Mills. They are also nice.

I have to agree, the malls in Maryland cannot compare to Tysons, especially Tysons 2.

How about the Leesburg Outlet Mall. They have lots of stores and great prices.

I thought White Flint was a dud. Haven't been to Montgomery Mall in a million years but it reminded me of Fair Oaks.
