I am considering a short-term (one to two years) move to Reston to cut back on expenses before we buy a home somewhere in Fairfax County. Looking at two different rental SFHs on Tigers Eye Court near USGS. Not concerned about the schools (my kid is too young for school) or home values (I'm not buying) and I have no snobbery about living in a "working class" neighborhood (been there, lived that), but I want my wife to feel safe at home during the day with our baby - and especially if I am out of town for a few days. I found a news story online from a couple years ago about some criminal gang member thug who lived on this street, but its hard to know if that means anything or not.

Anyone on the forums live on/near Tigers Eye Ct? Do you know the area? It's near Coquina Dr. and Glade Dr. between the Fairfax County parkway and USGS. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!

The area you asked about is not a part of Reston that I recommend. I live in the South Lakes area and if you do a search on this site you will see that I highly recommend it.

You can find specifics on arrest records for residents of specific streets by using the link below and entering only the street name.

The whole area around the USGS is garbage, living-wise that is. Anywhere on Glade Dr. between Reston Parkway and Sunrise Valley Drive, is not a place to live. It's the subsidized section of town, full of crime and issues. East of Reston Parkway on Glade Dr. is much better, as is pretty much anywhere else within the community (Minus a few smaller areas).
