I got in an accident in hammond indiana where they told me i had no choice but to get my car towed. Luckily my cousin works within walking distance and was able to drive me to the police station and woodmar towing to get my car. i was able to drive it fine all the way home in dyer. they charged me $190 for towing from 165th and indinapolis to woodmar towing on 173rd near purdue. i don't know about you but this is ridiculus. any chance of me getting money back from the city or am i screwed?

Well if the accident wasn't your fault then maybe you can get the other driver's insurance company to reimburse you for that expense. If it was your fault I don't know... I would say you're prob out of luck unless it was such minor damage that it would be completely unreasonable for them to have your car towed. But if the city doesn't do anything about it I dunno. I guess you could try to sue but I doubt that hassle would be worth the $190 you paid.

well the car was drivable enough to get back to dyer. but yeah you are probably right. i just think it's crazy that they charged $190 when i could probably have had it done for less than half that if i called a third party company.

Sport contact me about this. 574-540-7174. The same happened to me. I am initiating a class action suit against them.
