As I write this I just left Miller Beach. Saw the regular sights. The lights from the mills. The skyline of Chicago, and then a bright collection of lights to the RIGHT of Chicago as if it was a city in the middle of the lake.

What the heck are these things? The lights look too bright to be Milwaukee (and they look closer to shore than Chicago). Are these water intake cribs or something? I have never seen these. Some new structure on the lake? Some new island?

Hmm, did someone slip anything into your drink? Suppose it could be a barge, they sometimes are to the right of the skyline. On super clear nights you can see Evanston.

Possibly the Russians?

Well tonight wasn't particularly clear. And maybe a barge. It certainly wasn't Evanston as that town has only 1 high rise and not much else with sreong projecting lights.

Could it be something similar to a mirage where the reflection of the water make things appear where they are not actually there or they seem misplaced?
