VRBO® is Vacation Rentals By Owner (http://www.vrbo.com/ - broken link)
I saw one for Mililani, but it was very expensive. You could stay near Mililani (Pearl Harbor, Aiea, Salt Lake, Pearl Ridge).

I second VRBO; don't let the prices scare you. I would offer 50% of what they are asking for; things are tough here now and as William Shatner says "negotiate". I've never had a problem renting via VRBO but I would be cautious about ponying up too much money up front. Deposit to hold, a portion maybe 2 weeks out and the remainder when you arrive. If it will be for a month or more you can dole it out accordingly.
