As others have said, the beaches are all public, and the law requires that there is public passage through to them. So "guard gated" and "beachfront" are mutually exclusive requirements here. You can have ocean views and gated. But if your property is beachfront, then all of us hoi polloi can get into their neighborhood, and can get onto the beach right their house.

If they really have such unlimited resources, perhaps they should consider guard-gating their single beachfront property? Lots of the big beachfront houses have elaborate gates to the property itself. Pay a guard's salary, and you're set.

See if you can find anyplace available at Blackpoint. That's an exclusive housing area beachfront in Kahala. Has a gate but I think it's accessed by a card and not a physical guard person. There's only about a dozen or so houses in the community so there may not be any of them available.

But, for someone who has "clients" relying on your personal knowledge and information you might want to try to do a little more personal research and become a bit more knowledgable. And to answer your question: depending on the time of day traffic can be and is bad coming from Kahala and back to Kahala, but not so bad as other locations. You can also do a google search of webcams in Honolulu and watch live traffic cams as well as still shots, and see what the traffic is really like. The local news is also available on the internet with local traffic, and weather updates every 9 minutes. Once again sorry for being rash. Have a Very Merry Christmas.
Not only that, but most real estate agents make 3% on a sale. So, do the people that help the OP get a cut of that? 5M home = $150K commission.

He's not a Real Estate agent. He's a Pediatrician and Small Business Owner who lives in Newport Beach CA, and who's main interest is "Helping Others".

I'd cut him some slack.

Well, that works, then. 3% of zero percent is an affordable amount he can send them as commission, huh? Maybe they can get 3% of good will. Or perhaps 3% of good karma. What goes around comes around. Plus, if he helps them find a nice place in Hawaii, he will have friends to visit there. Ha! That's a worthy goal not involving commissions.

Actually, there is a lot of information online these days and if he has "clients" who are not good with computers then he is providing them with a valid service whether he's been to Hawaii or not.

People who are "obsessed with safety" are probably not going to be happy anywhere.

My bad. I'm a bit jaded when it comes to Real Estate Agents and their commissions. The OP did not say he was a Real Estate Agent.

Probably Kahala or Hawaii Kai would be best, but it is a little dry. Kailua is also beachfront and rather safe, but farther from Honolulu. Money alone isn't going to get their children into Iolani or Punahou though and you'll have to face traffic to get to the areas where the schools are located.

If your "clients" have "unlimited funds", they should be able to find most of the things they seek in a house on the Kona Coast of the Big Island.

However, instead of moving to Hawai'i, they should maintain their residence in Orange County and simply purchase a vacation house (or several) here and have the "best of both worlds."

Access to a Gulfstream V, and a Robinson R66, should eliminate most travel problems between their residences.

Suggest you look into La Pietra. It is the most exclusive private girl's school on Oahu. It is located by the base of Diamond Head crater. They can live in Kahala and the drive would be only a couple of minutes away through Kahala Ave. and not much traffic. No gated community, but they can provide their own security as does all the other multimillion dollar mansions provide for themselves. If ebay founder Peter Omidyar can live there feeling safe so should your clients.
