Does anyone know which cities/airlines have direct flights from the east coast to Honolulu? I 've found Continental/United has one from Newark and Delta from Atlanta but was looking for any others.
Thanks.

My impression is that direct east coast to Honolulu flights were never really popular due to the long flight time involved, so not too many were scheduled. Now with the added hassle of longer TSA clearance times, it makes the trip too long for most people to want to do it in one hop. Splitting it up, with a layover on the west coast, just seems more civilized. I just booked a flight going the opposite direction, and that's exactly what I did.

FAA requires flights over 8(or 9?) hours to have a third captain on-board, thus there aren't many direct flights to Hawai'i from the eastern seaboard. If you're counting Atlanta as being on the east coast, you might want to consider American Airlines flights from Chicago (ORD) and/or Dallas (DFW). A lot of regional/super-regional airports' flights are funneled through those two for direct flights to Honolulu (HNL) and Kahului, Maui (OGG).

Best of luck.

I've done the Continental flight to/from Newark several times and I LOVED it! I would much rather have one long flight than have to worry about layovers and smaller aircraft. Usually, the longer the flight, the more amenities you get - nicer seats, movies, even meals!

Different strokes... I'm a gazillion miler, and a pilot, and after years as a road warrior I've seen the service levels and amenities and loading and every other dang thing about flying degrade to the point that I really need that layover on the west coast. Heck, I've even stopped using my carry-on suitcase, because it is just too much hassle now that everyone uses them.

I just take it easy, don't worry, be happy, and make sure I always have a spare charged battery for my smartphone and a good book with me.

We fly Continental every year from Newark. Buy the ticket and hopefully upgrade with points.

Our 8 hour direct flight from Dallas to Maui or Honolulu comes with ZERO food unless you fly first class.

But I agree...I'd rather do one long flight than risk missing my connection (which we almost did when we broke the flight up to go to Kauai last year).

However, if you are purchasing your own first class seat, it's half as expensive to fly if you do break up the flight because of the limited number of direct flights (only 2 a day to each location).

Most airlines will stop somewhere mid country (like DFW), or on the west coast (LAX or SFO) to refuel before going to Hawaii.
