I know there is a Best Western near the airport - around $130/night I think.

My sweetie crashed for a night before starting his new job at the Pacific Marina Inn Airport...he thought it was pretty old and bare bones, but if all you need to do is crash and sleep, he paid $99 for that one night, military rate (merchant marine). He had a day to kill, and appreciated that it was walking distance to so many things.

I checked tripadvisor and the Ohana was the highest reviewed. The reviews on the Pacific Marina Inn were brutal. I think they had more 1 star reviews than any other. The Best Western was pretty much down the middle like Best Westerns normally are, so I made my reservation there. Couldn't immediately tell from the website what they charge for parking though. I got a room with 2 doubles for $125 plus tax and parking.

Sweet, TC!

My spouse just needed a cheap place to crash, and he did get that, but when he called after waking the next day, he said it was ok for a place to sleep for a night, but certainly not for a vacation, a real lack of amenities. I thought that's what you wanted, a place to crash, otherwise I wouldn't have posted. Come to think of it, he didn't even check reviews, he had so much to get done between finishing his job of 23 years here and getting on a plane for his new job...four days between (can you IMAGINE?)...that it was the least of his worries.

For only $25 more, sounds like you got a deal. Please check back in and let us know.

If it was just up to me I would have grabbed the cheapest place I could find. Heck, driving up the Alcan I slept on the ground in a tent every night with bears digging through the campsites looking for leftovers. The wife and daughter don't like to rough it.
