Plenty roosters crowing in neighboring Waipahu every morning at sunrise...and an occasional chicken wanders up the hill to my neighborhood as well.

There are so many wild chickens on Oahu also - even at Vineyard/Pali Highway right downtown there is a little family that lives in the median.

In the eating sense - yes, popular. More popular in an asian dish though than chicken fingers I would think.
