I have to concur. I went up to Lanikai a couple of weeks ago. Certainly one of the finest swimming beaches in the world...in my very humble opinion. I love the color of its water. The toilet facilities adjacent to the park's parking area and beach were an indescribable mess..The toilets were completely unusable, and forget changing.. The floor was covered in...well, use your imagination....and this was the middle of the week. I opted to attempt to quickly change in my car (in the lot) which caused a couple of old aunties who pulled into the stall next to me to go into a complete giggle fit. One of them asked me if I was married. I'm still not sure if she was was serious.....
It isn't just the public facilities. On the 4th lagoon in Ko'Olina (near the public parking) the toilet paper rolls are stolen every day. EVERY DAY! Really?

Funny you mentioned Ko'olina. I'm at the Marriott getting lunch (lunch gets you free parking/validation). Anyway, the restroom between the Marriott and Disney on the beach is as good as I've ever seen. Well stocked and clean.

There are ways to keep toilet paper from being stolen, though it's also hard to dispense it when needed. California usually keeps up with the TP demand except in the most heavily used places.
What is it with Hawaii and vandalism? I've never been to your state, but every article or tourist guide I've seen mentions all the vandalism (and thefts from cars). Something must be pissing off all the teenagers.
Huh? A $35 minimum in order to be validated? I think parking is still free at L&L on Farrington,
Whtviper. You can certainly find cheaper items at Longboards that total far less than $35
including tip for one's lunch.

The $35 was for 2 people and the purpose of parking at the Marriott was all day access to beach. It wasn't for cheap food. You can spend $35 on anything at the Marriott and get free beach parking - not just lunch.
