^^^Makes sense. I always hear complaints about stinky rotting seaweed on FL's Atlantic coast and the Keys, that is what I was referring to.

Has California seen the plastic residue increase, along the coast from the tsunami in Japan, washing across the ocean? Lots along the south coast of the Big island beach area in news reports. Ocean life eating tiny pieces and scientists concerned about the oceans being a slime in the future, from man's pollutions.
Disgusting.

I haven't noticed it here. I mean, there's trash everywhere sometimes, but I haven't noticed anything out of the usual.

I love Waikiki. I can't wait to visit again. I don't understand why so many people hate it.

Can't be all that many people who hate it, or it wouldn't be that crowded.

Hotels are consistently running over 90% occupancy at Waikiki - the highest in Hawaii - no hate.

I love it too. Although, there does seem to be a type of traveler that really hates a beach with other people. I don't personally understand that kind of traveler though.
