Before or after the fiscal cliff?

Check out the Yurt thread, just in case. (Keep in mind, they may or may not be cannibal-proof.)
Apparently there is also a shortage of Duraflames in Oahu, so be ready.
Generally, those of us at this level don't discuss money in front of the 'help', but us bluebloods gotta stick together, so I made an exception.
You're welcome!
Aloha, Mahalo, and sheeeiiiit!

One can get by on $400-500K on Oahu – if one is willing to forego one's exotic car collection, pied-a-terre in Paris, weekend jaunts to Rio and NYC, personal manservant, and other such basic necessities that make life worth living. Personally, I'm not willing to countenance such privation. But to each his own, I suppose.

Answer: Financially, very nice. IF you like what Hawaii has to offer, because it is more than a money thing.

Opps, I was going to say you'd be fine but then you mentioned having a dog - so I don't know, could be tough, private schools, professional walkers, summer outfits all year long, etc.

For the record, I have absolutely nothing against people who work hard and make good money. My snarky response was based on my belief that this was a troll post, given the spate of "Can I make it in Hawaii on $30K/40K/80K?" posts. If the OP had taken the time to provide some context, I wouldn't have been snarky.
