Many of the beaches in Hawaii are entirely man-made - or had a significant amount of help.

Waikiki Beach is entirely man-made and there are sand replenishment projects all the time.

During the 1920s and 30s, much of the sand at Waikīkī Beach was allegedly imported from Manhattan Beach, California.

And barbed wire was installed at Waikiki to keep the sand from being stolen!!!!

So take pictures of the sandy beaches because the extremists are beating the drums that it will be all gone and then dee end is coming.

Went to Waikiki yesterday. WOW.that's really all I can say. wow. Next weekend we're back to Waianae. The sand at Waikiki (trying to stick to topic) has a lot of sharp stuff in it, shells, coral...

a local friend told me he had just heard it about 1.5 weeks ago. It is all crap anyway to distract us of the real incompetancy of Wash DC.
