I'm being facetious:

Every flipping "Find Your Best Place" quiz I take shows Honolulu/Oahu as #1. Every time I think of a quality that I would like my home city/area to have, yup, it turns out Oahu has it in spades. Save one ever important quality: Cost of Living

It's not like I think living on Oahu would be like a permanent vacation, Im talking about all the quality of life and other stats that I look for in a place. It points me to Oahu every single time. I even love native Hawaiian and Polynesian culture as well as Asian culture. Hawaiian and Japanese are my two favorite foods, too. In the theme of one Miss Jan Brady, I whine, "Oahu, Oahu, Oahu"!

Maybe I'll strike it rich one day. Until then, I can visit on vacation and find whatever city/metro is second best for me (I think it might be somewhere in Northern California).

Mahalo plenty for reading my unabashed whine!

Many economic index lists seem to have Oahu at the top as most expensive. Practicality of resources

available, are in large part, the reason. Land area for building residences of any type, materials to do so,

daily life consumables, and energy, are realities any location. If one lived on the west coast and all of the

above were shipped from the east coast on ONE methodology of bulk, such as a ship, it is costly.

Add competition of residents to use bought consumables, and, costs rise due to simple availability in a

given time frame. Preferred locations and amenities for a residence too, are factors in cost. It is, what it

is. Individual compromise of wants versus ability to obtain, are of course, personal choices. Multiple

analogies are not necessary to be redundant making the point here now. One great thing is that man has

an incredible ability to be creative to achieve a goal. You will do so.
