The restaurant on Nimitz Highway near Puuloa was Kelly's Coffee Shop. South Seas Cycles is there now...Anyone remember Koko's at Kalakaua and Kapiolani ?
I remember Coco's. In the early 1970s, the bar was famous for pupus. We used to ride THE BUS down there for happy hour. The bus was 25 cents, but we tossed a nickel in the hopper, and asked for a transfer. At Coco's, well drinks were 49 cents, and they were doubles. Free pupus included lasagna, teriyaki meatballs, and a variety of other filling things. After drinks and a meal, we used the transfer to ride back to Waikiki. A great deal for teenagers! (The drinking age was 18 then, but it was rarely enforced.) Later the Hard Rock Café was there. Is it still open? Not much of a loss if it isn't.

The Hard Rock moved to Waikiki a few years ago - and is generally packed compared to the Kapiolani location.

Another placed moved in after Hard Rock and went out of business.

Coconut Willy's, formally on Lewers Street (Waikiki) - is at the Kapiolani location now.

The resturant Im thinking of is Brain's. A little hole in the wall fast food local resturant. Its a little drive up resturant on corner where they sell mixed plates. You sit outside to eat. Its been there for years.

That was a sad day when they closed the PCT/Monkey Bar. Is the Wailana Coffee Shop still around? Senator Dan used to stop by frequently for the oxtail soup.

Yes, it's still there on the Corner of Ala Moana and Ena Road. I like their breakfast; definitely a better choice than the IHop next door.
