-6 windchill (7 actual) over here this morning. Thought you'd like something to feel smug about.

Wish me warm - I mean well!

Got denied rent on a house because Jeff and I aren't married. Welcome to GA. *shrugs*

We should be moved into a place in the next week. Finalizing details this evening.

Got a cool little island car! The back comes off! Too bad the nearest beach is so far away.

We miss you, Hawaii. We saw some great crackers on sale last night - but no poke to go with it.

Eh, he was a "pastor". Which is strange considering how he leered at me. Then, when I asked if the carpet would be cleaned before we moved in (it smelled like pet urine and was noticeably filthy, not even vacuumed) and he insisted it was just cleaned. So he was a pastor who lies. Probably a rotten landlord.

We should know tomorrow about the perspective place - gotta do the background check.

Found a great place to get fresh fish so we can make our own poke!! VERY happy about that!

I head to SC for training tomorrow for a few days. MovingAloha you're in PA??? UGH! That's a long ways to meet for coffee! Wanna meet in WV?

Hmmm, if I thought it would be warmer, I'd take you up on it. It got up to a blistering 52 degrees today!

Adjust your terminology - ya'll are white in Atlanta. That tan won't last long either. In a month, maybe two max you'll look like everyone else. At least until summer when you can go to the Atlantic Beaches and enjoy ridiculously warm gulf stream water.

Just kiddin' you a bit! Atlanta and the SE US has a lot to offer. Tons of history. Mountains in one direction, sugar sand beaches in the other. There's a local kind of "Aloha/Ohana" spirit there too (Southern Hospitality). Atlanta is a big metro with a lot of people from all over, but in general the people in the South are very friendly and outgoing. Hope you enjoy your little break from HI!

What an odyssey. Children's liquid Benadryl is a life saver.

It's not that cold here. There's a pleasant crispness ... for a few minutes anyway. Then it's cold.

We went to the beach on Christmas day, then flew out at 9pm.

I hope I can check in every now and then because aloha is alive and well on this forum. The Atlanta folks are not embracing me but you just wait. I'll kill them with kindness! Seriously, though, it would be nice if they could give me some advice here and there. Lots of crickets chirping.

So we really miss Hawaii and have asked "WHY did we leave again?" several times. But we knew it wouldn't be more than a couple of years. We just had a decent opportunity and decided to strike while the iron's hot.

Here we go again.
Hope to hear a follow-up POST-moving to Atlanta story!

If you do check back to this forum once in awhile...
