If Obama goes to Maui, it would take several helicopters -- Marine One usually flies in a group formation with up to four other identical helicopters.

No worries when he arrives. Scheduled to land around 1:00 am. So no traffic jams from on the H1 over to Kailua like in the past when he arrived during the day.

I sure see a lot of commercials on TV for Hawaii every winter. So news coverage of our President in Hawaii is TV time they don't have to buy to remind people that are freezing their rear off on the mainland that yes, there is a place where it is warm!

You sure about that?

Keep him there! When he comes our way he ties up the traffic and cost a fortune to the taxpayer. Keep him out of DC less damage to the country. Please do us a solid, keep him off the mainland. Thanks.

I'm sure that in fairness you equally resented it if and when his predeccesor visited your area & tied up traffic too, right?
If not, well.... I won't be rude.

Yeah - very. Considering the runway at OGG is just under 7,000 feet - and you need about 10,000 feet for a loaded 747. They aren't going to take a chance with AF1 even stripped down on a runway that small.

As for 747's flying in and out of Maui, who can settle the question?
