Loss of memory, inability to remember details, these are common to people who have been given "date-rape" drugs.
Or - someone who overindulges on wine.
On the news this morning - homeless guy put $35,000 on his credit card - 1 transaction was for $25,000 at a jewelry store (don't they ask for ID for a transaction that high???????)
That makes drugging less likely - I find it hard to believe a homeless guy was hanging out at the Amuse wine bar. Probably stumbled out and got whacked on the head is more likely.

So far, it sounds like Allenby might have gotten drunk at the wine bar, tried to go someone place (e.g. a strip club), passed out on the way, had his wallet and cell phone "lifted" while he was unconscious, and injured himself in a fall. Here's a link to an account by another witness… Homeless man denies attack, claims pro golfer passed out on sidewalk | KHON2
"Robert Allenby's fired, former caddy now says he doesn't believe the Australian professional golfer was mugged in Honolulu in January."
“Do I think he got mugged and bashed and absolutely robbed? No I don’t,” Middlemo said. “That’s the story I told because that’s the story he told me to tell because I wasn’t there.”
"Middlemo said he protected Allenby "to the hilt," but is no longer doing so."
“Do I think he fell over and cracked his head? Honestly I do ... I think he fell over and someone picked up his wallet and had a great time with his credit card.”
