I am going with it is 411 Hobron Ln Honolulu, HI 96815 not the one that you posted.
Fort Shafter would have been an easy commute from Waikiki. The old Officer's Club restaurant, The Round House, was one of my favorite places to eat when I was a kid on Oahu in the early 60's.

Maybe the address is 411 Hobron Lane. It could have been a house at one time. There is a condo there now.

Interesting hypotheses about the spelling, and therefore, the address as it is, now. Thank you (mahalo? Is that right?) all for taking the time to look this info up for me. You may be right about the name being misspelled by my parents, but if so, they wrote it down incorrectly on 7 different photo envelopes over the course of about 5 months. Or, I suppose, the street name spelling may have changed slightly over the years. Interesting to think that the condo could be built on the land my parents once lived on. I love to think that, perhaps someday, I might be able to find that address, myself, and have that link to my parents' past.
And thank you to everyone for their links to various places and videos. I really loved looking at them. The kindness of strangers never ceases to surprise and amaze me. Once again, thank you! Your amazing kindness and helpful spirit is obviously alive and well in Hawaii :-).

Here is Waikiki circa 1960 or so.
Once all the high rises that are in Waikiki were private homes or small apartment buildings. It is hard to see in this picture, but Mrs. Young was still living in her home on Gray's Beach in between Halekulani and the Royal Hawaiian. Hers was the last private home on the beach in Waikiki. The Sheraton stands on her property now.
Irish eyes,
In response to your inquiry--back in the 1950s there was an Army base and Army housing on Diamond Head Road close to Waikiki. My family was in the Army and living in a military type house on Diamond Road in 1954. I agree with the other posters that the address you have is probaby 411 Hobron Lane. Back in the 1950s (I was born on Oahu 1954), Waikiki was full of small, quaint houses and 2 flight walk up apartment buildings. By the mid 1960s many of the houses and open air walk ups were razed. All the little military houses around Diamond Head Road have been long since torn down and the street addresses lost to another era. Hope you are able to find more information on your parent's time in Hawaii.
Thank you both SO much for taking the time to post pictures and history. It has brightened my day to hear and see life as it was when my parents were there. You have both helped me to feel even closer to them, now that they're both deceased. Believe it or not, learning a bit about their lives that I was either not part of, or didn't know about, brings me comfort. That feeling is priceless.
I am forever grateful for everyone's help during this search/inquiry :-).
