Hello friends,
My family & I will be doing the circle island package with the Polynesian Cultural Center in June & pickup for the tour starts in the Waikiki area. We are staying with relatives while in Oahu & have a rental car & are looking for the cheapest place to park our car since we will need to leave it from 8:30 am - 10:30 pm. They have certain places listed for pickup, so it needs to be within short walking distance please. Any recommendations for these areas will be greatly appreciated since we are not familiar with the area. I apologize for the huge list, that's what they gave us as a pickup point, so I'm not expecting details on all of these. Thanks in advance!

Cheapest Waikiki parking is street parking without a meter. While elusive it can be found on Ala Wai and various side streets.

Otherwise the least expensive option is the zoo lot off of Kapahulu at $1 hour - you can pay by credit card.

I always find free parking on the street by the zoo on Kalakaua Ave (could be getting street name wrong).

Is the Ala Moana at the top of your list mean the Ala Moana Hotel? The reason I ask is that the mall is
next door and connected by a walkway to the Ala Moana Hotel.

Can they relatives with whom you are staying simply drop you off & pick you up ?

Last I checked the parking lot at the Ilikai Marina is self-park and $20 per day. Then it's about a block walk to the Ilikai Hotel which is on the shuttle stop list you provided.

Or, one can simply park at the meters behind the Ilikai for $1/hour

That is true. But no guarantee there will be any open or available when you pull in. OP, if you decide to try and find an open spot on the street ... or a metered spot in an area like the zoo or behind the Ilikai, you should also have a back-up pay lot in mind to go to.

The bus tour won't be waiting for you. So I'd recommend having a back up pay lot in mind that you know you can drive into in the event you find one of the lower priced meter or street spots available.

Last thing you want is the stress of driving around and not finding an open space on the street. It's not work the $20 to $30 it would cost you to park in any one of many pay lots around.

There is also a public pay parking lot on Hobron at the Villa on Eaton Square building. I haven't parked there but I've heard it is reasonable. From there it is a short walk down to the Discovery Bay building (on your list as a pick up location. I'd check it out (or the lot at Ilikai Marina) if I were you.

Yes, it's the hotel & the pickup point says it's on Mahukona Street & to wait on sidewalk by stairs. So can you park in the mall parking lot for free or is that paid parking also?

We are staying at relatives house, but they will be on Big Island that day for business, so we will be venturing out on our own that day.
