Hoping good weather although reading rain is quick usually. Can you recommend must see things? We plan to hike Diamond Head and do a Luau (touristy yes) and go to PCC. What restaurants casual and fine dining are a must do? Reading Dukes, House without a key etc.

There are tons of travel sites that would cover a whole lot more than what we could give you in limited space, here's one that's pretty popular:

https://beatofhawaii.com/

Just please be respectful of the do's and don'ts of local culture and for heaven's sakes DON'T call the Mainland "The USA"!

Have a good trip!

Yeah - just sit in your hotel room - sounds like a lovely way to spend your Hawaii vacation.

No worries. Rain just cools things down. They do not last long generally.
Do Dimond head in the morning when cool. Bring water with you.
Enjoy the Trip.

Missing the point. Some people run run run on their vacation and don’t take time to just let things flow and enjoy the moment. That’s what I was getting at.

When you make plans to have no plans you just do whatever you feel like doing. Go for a walk, enjoy the scenery, eat somewhere you hadn’t planned, etc.

If you’ve never been to Hawaii and it’s potentially a once in a lifetime trip - it makes sense to plan.

I'll add - this is an awful place to try to plan a vacation though with so many dedicated travel sites.

Rephrasing my original:

I recommend setting some time aside, like an afternoon, to just be present and let things flow.

Certainly good to plan the big stuff as many things have reservations that need to be done far in advance. Rental cars, dinner reservations, etc.

You never know - but it does not look promising - from Hawaii News Now below. Light winds are often rain makers due to humidity building up.

Humid conditions are expected for much of the week, with partly sunny skies and afternoon showers expected Monday. Winds are light, thanks to a deep low pressure system far to the north that has cut off the trades. More showers are expected midweek as a front develops near Kauai Monday night and Tuesday. The front will have the potential to draw up a steady stream of deep tropical moisture from the south, especially for the western islands, Tuesday through Thursday.

Winds are expected to remain light through Thursday, so the eastern half of the island chain will likely have afternoon clouds and pop-up showers, with a chance of thunderstorms for Hawaii Island. Another cold front could move southward into the state Friday and Saturday, with the trade winds finally following behind it, along with more typical trade wind weather conditions.
